Design and Hydrodynamic Performance Analysis of Offshore Multi-Module Floating Docks

Abstract This study presents a design scheme for multi-module connected floating dock, comprising two configurations the lower body: transverse and longitudinal floats. An articulated connection between modules is also included. The hydrodynamic performance of dock with these compared analyzed by taking South China Sea as an example. Frequency time-domain analysis methods are employed, considering coupling mooring dock. results indicate that, under condition both cross waves oblique waves, float configuration exhibits superior motion response in all degrees freedom to configuration, particularly terms roll performance.
